Meet Doula Jennifer!
My name is Jennifer Richard. I live in Colchester, Vermont with my husband and our daughter. I am passionate about nurturing new families and providing them with the tools to succeed in their parenting journey. I became a doula because I believe in empowering all birthing people to make informed decisions for themselves, feel confident and respected during labor, and are cared for in the important healing transition of the postpartum period. When I am not supporting families in postpartum or attending a birth you can find me outside hiking, foraging, camping or kayaking, doing a heated yoga class or crafting for my apothecary business.
Training & Education
I have an Associate’s Degree in Psychology from the Community College of Vermont. I am trained as a Maternal Support Practitioner (doula) and Childbirth Educator through Bebo Mia, Inc., specializing in fertility, labor/birth, postpartum support and childbirth education. I work with clients who have diagnosed mood disorders such as anxiety, depression, BPD, and trauma-induced PTSD. I am also trained in aromatherapy, herbal medicine, and Certified in Infant CPR, First Aid/AED through the Red Cross. My experience includes extensive work with families of multiples and special needs. I have served over 50 families throughout Vermont since 2018 and I look forward to continuing to make a difference in so many more lives.
